The Old Course at St. Andrews is the most famous piece of land the game of golf has. Its importance cannot be overestimated. It is this course located in Scotland, Pebble Beach in California and Augusta National in Georgia which make up the game's ultimate triple play. Each contains all the elements that make them unmatched when compared to the rest: incredible history, a one-of-a-kind landscape and tales from some of the golf's most legendary hero's.

The US has many great golf courses, but neither Pebble Beach nor Augusta can stand alone like St. Andrews can. Pebble Beach is often considered the United States' ultimate links course, merely lost in the shadow of its counterpart, St. Andrews, a world away. Augusta was the brainchild of Alistair Mackenzie, one of the designers who brought the golf's most cherished virtues to American soil.

The game itself was born on the land which linked the St. Andrews Bay with the town itself. To this day, "links" is a term used generally for "golf course" whether it's bordered by the sea or not. This dramatic setting has all the elements: wind, water, rain and rolling terrain. The coastlines of many towns have their own "links" course, but are by no means replicas of St. Andrews. Each club maintains its own identity.
